Steven James came to measure my front bay which needed a new lead roof. He measured the job himself. However he seemed to experience problems getting the measurements correct. He had to visit the property twice to check the width of the bay. But he made a serious mistake in measuring the extension of the bay. After they had stripped my roof of the old lead and had got the new lead onto the bay the two workmen discovered that Steven James had not fully allowed for either the upstand at the rear of the roof or the drip overhang at the front of the roof. In both cases the measurement was only half of that recommended in the roofing guides. I sympathised with his workmen who were vainly trying do a good job with material that was not sufficient due to Steven James inability to measure the job correctly.
