We asked Mr Andy Taylor of Heritage Roofing (which is not actually a company) to fit some PVC soffits and fascias, and to rebed some verge tiles on our clay tile roof in February 2013. Half way through the work, he recommending doing remedial work to another part of the roof. The total cost of the work agreed was £2950. They broke into our property on the first day because they had arrived early and we were out. They then continued to park on our neighbor's drive without permission, despite us asking them not to. The verge tiles were re-bedded sufficiently, but they used the wrong material for a barge board. The PVC fascias were wonky and left large gaps on the underside. They did none of the remedial work we agreed, and instead just threw mortar underneath some valley tiles and re-pointed ridge tiles (without telling us). They also didn't replace cracked and broken tiles, as agreed and paid for, instead leaving a pile of old tiles on the ground which he said the scaffolders would use to replace them (which of course, they didn't). On top of all of this we discovered we were overcharged on the original price. Recently, the pointing on the ridge tiles was blowing, revealing old mortar underneath which should have been new mortar because we paid for them to be re-bedded. We have been trying to contact Mr Taylor with a view to having the work done again/properly, quoting the "10 year guarantee on all work" he advertises, but this appears to be worthless. He gave us a false address (which is a criminal offence) and we are now trying to track him down and pursue him through the courts for compensation. I would never use these people again.
