I had 3 quotes for work and although this was not the cheapest, I really liked Richard and he seemed knowledgeable. Everything went well and according to plan. Until there was a problem and Richard DOES NOT LIKE PROBLEMS. In fact he will imply that the problem is your fault and not want to deal with it. Our front door would not open when fitted and I was told I didn't know what i was doing and that it was my fault. The door manufacturer agreed with me that the lock was faulty and replaced it. we had to have the lantern roof removed and a surveyor noted that it was NOT the correct size and had been bodged to fit. Richard admitted that he did not measure properly. He then expected me to pay for him to remove, make good and replace the roof?! The final straw was that Richard would not supply details in order to get building control to sign off (because i would not pay for the roof repairs) He is without a doubt one of the rudest people and i would absolutely NOT recommend anyone to use this company.

From the start contact was friendly and efficient. Following a survey they quoted a very competitive price to replace the facias, soffits, guttering and cladding on my property with solid UPVC products. They started on the agreed date and worked cleanly and efficiently to complete the job. The were respectful of my neighbours (access was required onto their roof) and left the area clear every night. When it was clear the work would overrun the office phoned up to check it was OK with me and explain why they needed more time. The quote was kept to even though the job took one and a half days longer than planned and I am very happy with the outcome.

I echo the sentiment of other customer reviews. No quibble regarding the product choice, just a very short response to my telephone enquiry didn't make me feel valued as a customer or to take my enquiry any further. Judging by the reviews, I'm glad I took my business elsewhere.

Please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you care where your hard earned money goes, stay away from Surrey Design. The customer service from Richard is diabolical. On the day work on my front door was due to start, after over an hour on from the agreed time, I found an email saying they would be late, no phonecall. When I rang to say I could have done with a call so I could make further arrangements with my own work, he said "well if you don't like it, I just won't come at all". He also put the phone down on me twice, once when I happened to mention in conversation I'd had other quotes for the work before settling on him. He has left me speechless at the lack of customer service, I don't want anyone else to suffer.

I came across "Surrey Design and Build" as a result of a trawl through the Recommend Which guide using the criteria "Guttering, Clearing, Facias and soffits." In fact they were first on a long list of "suppliers" and furthermore a colleague of mine was considering them for some substantial work in his Woking home. Unfortunately the attitude was wrong from the start - the nature of my work was "beneath their level" and "we don't send people out for a £50 job." Well more fool them as my project will come in at over £2,000. They did send an unannounced and without notice "representative" which sort of contradicts their "we don't send people out for £50 job" but as no one had called (although that was promised) the work had gone elsewhere. I have no doubt about their technical ability but frankly their attitude (and lest we forget I was a potential customer) leave an awful lot to be desired. Avoid Unfortunately
